Parivaar laurels in the 22nd West bengal State Basketball Championship for Boys & Girls 2024
Parivaar Basketball team participated in the 22nd Youth State Basketball Championship for Boys & Girls 2023-2024 which was organized by West Bengal Basketball Association in Burdwan from 29th September to 5th October 2024.
Boys Category
There were 20 teams who participated in the boys’ category. The teams were divided into 4 groups.
Our Boys team finished as runners up to Burdwan. Enroute to their Finals they had a unbeaten streak of 5 consecutive matches. They played their first match with Sahapur Maitree Sangha and won by a considerable margin (37 : 28). Second league match was with Barisha Asar where they had a thumping win (58 : 26). Third league match was with BBYS where again they had a big win (46 : 30). They qualified for the quarter finals and faced Alipore Sports club where they secured a big win (44 : 27) and qualified for the semi finals. They met Rakhi Sangha in the semis where they won (43 : 23) and proceeded to the Final. Here they had to face the home team Burdwan. Our team gave their best but tasted defeat for the first time in the tournament (53 : 63).
Girls Category
There were 16 teams who participated in the girls’ category. The teams were divided into 4 groups.
Our Girls team finished as Third Placed. Enroute to their Third Place position they faced BTA in the first league match where they won by a huge margin (35 : 07). They faced Sports is Life in their second league match and again had a thumping victory (29 : 04). Third match was against the Police AC which was a very hard fought one but unfortunately lost (36 : 42). Inspite of the loss they qualified for the Quarter Finals where they faced Rakhi Sangha and won by a considerable margin (39 : 26) and qualified for the semi finals. They faced the home team Burdwan in the semi finals but after a hard fought game they lost (18 : 22). Though they did not qualify for the finals but played for the Third Place Position against Eastern Railway and won by a very close margin (29 : 27).
We are proud of our boys and girls as they are consistently leaving marks of their talent across the state and country.
