We present below in brief the salient points of our work during the FY 2022-23.
1. The two residential campuses in District 24 Parganas (South) in West Bengal continue to function strongly with a total of 1,994 resident children (1032 boys & 962 girls) as on date. More than 400 children from areas of extreme poverty & vulnerability have been admitted in the current year. Two new residential blocks, respectively for boys and girls, each having the capacity of more than 350 children, have been operationalised and many more children will be admitted in the next financial year.
2. Our residential institution for tribal children in Dewas district (which started in December 2021) has scaled to 590 boys, from 8 districts. Its capacity will be increased to more than 1500 children in the next 1 year.
3. We started a new residential campus in Sehore district for girls from tribal pockets of 7 districts of MP (the construction of this campus was going on for more than 3 years). There are 139 girls living here at present. We will be increasing the capacity to more than 500 children in the next 1 year.
4. Additionally, the two hostels (one each for boys and girls) continue to run in Mandla for a total of 190 children.
5. Seva Kutirs (supplementary education-cum-meals program) running in 681 interior tribal villages of 15 districts in MP. They cater to more than 50 thousand children around half of which are girls.
6. In our Vision Restoration Program (Parivaar Shravan Kumar Prakalpa) more than 1600 camps were held during the year. The number of patients served with general examination, medicines and spectacles in these camps is more than 1.90 lakhs and 18,847 surgeries were conducted.
7. The total number of Ambulances functioning in impoverished tribal and other dispossessed blocks has been 133 in 25 districts (24*7 service). They have catered to more than 1.25 lakh persons during the year.
8. In this year, 18 Mobile Clinics served in impoverished tribal pockets of 11 districts. The number of patients served under this service in the year has been 4,42,457.
The number of Sevavratees Parivaar has as on date is around 4200.
We spent about Rs 70 Cr in all these activities. All these funds were received through donations and grants.
