Parivaar conferred with prestigious Mahavir Excellence Award. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 10 Lacs and oast recipients have been eminent persons and institutions like Dr Badrinath (of Sankara Netralaya), Mahatma Gandhi Hospital Sevagram, Dr Ramani (Sankara Eye Care) and Sadguru Sangh Trust Chitrakoot.
In our journey of two decades, one did not usually associate medical service with Parivaar’s work. But in the last few years this too has become a significant focus area of our work due to the needs felt from the grassroots level and on account of the advantages given by our field competencies. Thus we could go ahead with 3 powerful programs in Health and Medical Space :
24*7 Ambulance service (94 of them running at present) has served more than 2.25 Lac people (a significant percent being life-saving cases)
13 Mobile Health Clinics (covering 572 villages have treated more 10 Lac people)
Vision Restoration Program for poor and vulnerable elderly (served more than 5.5 Lac people with 4200 camps and 61 thousand eye surgeries)
This prestigious award comes as a powerful validation of our efforts in this space.
