As shared by us in one of our earlier communications, our boys U-14 basketball team (Parivaar Bengal) became the champions out of 64 teams at Junior NBA Regional Tournament held in Bhubaneswar, in November ’24. The Girls’ team came third out of 64 teams.
Today (6th Feb ’25) both the teams have gone to Delhi for the Junior NBA National Finals, being held in the coming days. The NBA have authorities arranged for their air travel between Kolkata and Delhi.
I recall that it was much later in my life that I first travelled by air. Even after starting Parivaar, for several years, I did 36 hours train journeys in Sleeper Class between Kolkata and Bombay and other similar routes.

We are immensely grateful to our training partner Hi5 Youth Foundation for taking this program to this level. Our kids are now among the best in the country in Basketball.
